Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 11, 2026
FaithAlert is committed to protecting the privacy of everyone who uses the platform, including individuals referenced in incident reports. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, what device permissions we request, and the choices available to you. FaithAlert collects only the information necessary to operate its security coordination services.
Information We Collect
Name, email address, and phone number for individual users; church name, address, contact details, lead pastor information, and congregation size for church profiles.
Title, description, date, incident type, severity, location, suspect description, police notification status, and any photo you choose to attach. Reports should describe observable characteristics only — not full names, addresses, or other sensitive identifiers of third parties.
Your church's ZIP code, entered manually during registration, is used to automatically assign a geographic region for alert sharing and daily local security briefings. FaithAlert does not access your device's GPS or precise real-time location.
Standard technical information such as browser or device type, IP address, and access timestamps, used for security and to keep the platform running reliably.
Device Permissions
FaithAlert requests permission to send push notifications so you can receive real-time, daily, weekly, or monthly alert summaries based on your Alert Preferences. You can disable push notifications at any time in your device or browser settings, or by adjusting your Alert Preferences within the app. Email alerts can be enabled or disabled independently of push notifications.
Attaching a photo to an incident report is optional. Depending on your device and browser, choosing to attach a photo may prompt access to your camera or photo library — this is handled by your device's standard file picker and is entirely your choice each time you submit a report. Uploaded photos are visible to all FaithAlert members in your geographic region, so review each image carefully before submitting to avoid disclosing personal information. Medical incident reports, including any attached photo, are visible only within your own church and are never broadcast to the wider network.
How We Use Information
We use the information described above to operate the FaithAlert network: routing incident alerts to churches in the relevant region, generating your church's Security Insights dashboard, producing OSINT intelligence reports and daily local security briefings, sending automated incident reminders and semi-annual roster reviews, and processing church registrations, referrals, and admin approvals.
Information Sharing
Incident reports are shared with verified churches in the same geographic region, except medical incidents, which stay confidential to your own church. Registration data (name, email, phone) is used solely to operate the platform and is never sold or shared with third-party organizations. We may share information with service providers who help us operate FaithAlert (such as hosting or email delivery), under confidentiality obligations, or where required by law.
Data Retention
We retain information for as long as your account or church registration remains active and as needed to operate the service. You may request removal of your data at any time by contacting your FaithAlert administrator.
Your Choices
You can manage notification frequency and channels in Alert Preferences, opt in or out of daily local security briefings, and request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by contacting your FaithAlert administrator. Church administrators are responsible for confirming that members added to the platform have consented to their information being stored and used for security coordination purposes.
Children's Privacy
FaithAlert is intended for use by adult church administrators, staff, and security personnel. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect information submitted to FaithAlert. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent revision.
